A while back, I was on the phone with a guy (a representative of Allstate - we saved a couple hundred by switching to them). He asked me my name and I told him. A little later, he asked for my husband's name, and I told him, Preston. The following conversation ensued.
Allstate Guy: So, who is Moe, that's not your husband?
Me: Moe?
AG: M-O-E
pause
At this point, I realized that when I originally told him my name, Emily, he had heard M-O-E and written down Moe.
I'm still chuckling about it.
